What is Magnet Fishing?
Magnet fishing consists of throwing a strong magnet (usually neodymium) into a water source such as a lake, river, or stream with the intent of attracting magnetic materials. Typically, these materials include iron, nickel, and cobalt. Magnet fishing is becoming increasingly popular all over the world and also helps keep our waterbodies clean.
Single Sided Fishing Magnets
Single sided fishing magnets are ideal for use on bridges, docks, ocean piers, from a boat, or in slow moving water. Unlike double sided magnets where the pull force is divided by both sides, single sided magnets have their pull force concentrated on only one side. Many people use a double sided magnet to drag an object close enough to be lifted out of the water with a single sided magnet because they retain an angle that promotes a maximum pull force when lifted.
Double Sided Fishing Magnets
Double sided fishing magnets are one of the most universal styles of fishing magnets. Unlike single sided magnets where the pull force is concentrated on one side, double sided magnets have their pull force divided by both sides (top and bottom). While having the mounting benefits of single sided fishing magnets, side mounting the eyebolt makes this magnet perfect for dragging the bottom of waterbodies. Double sided fishing magnets are suitable for steeper inclines and faster moving water.
Clamp Fishing Magnets
Clamp fishing magnets consist of a large Neodymium magnet secured by a tightened frame. This is different than traditional double sided magnets which consist of two disc magnetics secured within a steel protective covering. Because clamp magnets consist of one solid magnet, the magnetic field generated by them is stronger than traditional double sided magnets. Clamp fishing magnets are more suitable for steeper inclines and faster moving water. Clamp magnets, like double sided magnets, are perfect for dragging the bottom of a waterbody.
360 Fishing Magnets
Like clamp magnets, 360 magnets consist of a large Neodymium magnet. 360 magnets are housed within a protective cover offering more magnet protection compared to clamp magnets. Due to their design, these magnets are capable of attracting ferrous materials from all sides of the magnet. 360 fishing magnets are all purpose magnets suitable for dragging the bottom of waterbodies or dipping off of docks, ocean piers, and bridges.
Block Magnets
Like clamp and 360 magnets, block magnets consist of a large Neodymium magnet. Block magnets are magnetic on all six sides. Our block magnets are fully enclosed for maximum magnet protection. Due to their design having six straight sides, these magnets are capable of biting harder on ferrous materials compared to the rounded sides of a 360 magnet. Block fishing magnets are all purpose magnets suitable for dragging the bottom of waterbodies or dipping off of docks, ocean piers, and bridges.
